10 years ago I decided I’d try my hand living in Tokyo. Since then I’ve taught English to Japanese school kids, shot documentaries in the city and the countryside, got married at a massive temple, and indulged in more conbini treats than I can count.
It means the world to me to share the joys I’ve felt over my 10 years here. That’s my mission during this trip. So please feel free to blame me if you find yourself falling for this epic country. When you stumble across nighttime neon alleyways, discover hole in the wall sweets shops, climb castles built centuries ago, and witness the work of Japanese artists and artisans I know you’ll be back for more soon. I will be waiting to welcome you with a lava-ball…I mean ‘takoyaki’ in hand.
